Feds offer reward for high school football coach wanted on child porn charges
The U.S. Marshals Service is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for assistance in finding a missing Virginia football coach who is accused of possessing child pornography.
Travis Lee Turner, 46, of Appalachia, Va., was last seen on Nov. 20 in Wise County, Va., near the Kentucky-Virginia state line.
Virginia State Police were conducting an investigation and were on their way to Turner’s home when they learned he was no longer there, according to previous media reports.
He’s now facing at least 10 counts of possession of child pornography and using a computer to solicit a minor.
Turner has been placed on administrative leave from his position as head coach at Union High School, about 30 minutes south of Jenkins, Ky.
Kentucky State Police previously said they were assisting with the search because of the proximity to Kentucky.
Turner is white, with brown hair and brown eyes. He is 6 feet, 3 inches tall and weighs 235 pounds , according to the U.S. Marshals Service.
The agency said in a Monday post on the social media platform X that Turner “may be armed, use caution.”
Anyone with information about his whereabouts was asked to call 911, contact Virginia State Police or submit a tip through the U.S. Marshals Service app.
