A Kentucky corrections officer was recently fired and charged for using racial and threatening language on a social media livestream while on duty.

A former Kentucky corrections officer has been fired and is facing charges after he allegedly used “racial” and threatening language on a TikTok livestream.

Zachary Behlke, 20, is charged with first-degree official misconduct and third-degree terroristic threatening, according to court records.

LaRue County Jailer Jody Perry said Behlke was hired as a corrections officer at the jail in September, but fired recently for behavior that violated the jail’s policy.

While on-duty and in a LaRue County Jail uniform, Behlke allegedly used “racial” and threatening language on a TikTok livestream while inside the control room of the jail, Perry said.

Behlke’s specific comments were not included in the court record.

Perry said he fired Behlke one day after receiving a call about the video. He sent his findings to authorities for additional review, and Behlke was charged Dec. 1 and arrested two days later.

Behlke was still in a probationary period at the time of the incident, Perry said. He was also younger than 21, so he had limited duty capability.

Behlke was arraigned Wednesday in LaRue District Court. His next scheduled court appearance is a pretrial conference Jan. 28, 2026, according to court records.
