Suspect eludes police after robbing EKY bank the day after Christmas

A search is underway in Knox County for a man suspected of robbing a bank in Corbin in broad daylight the day after Christmas.

Police say an unarmed man jumped over the counter of Forcht Bank branch on Master Street in Corbin at around 10 a.m. Dec. 26 and stole an undisclosed amount of money.

The suspect appears to be a Black male in his 40s wearing all black clothing and lime-green tennis shoes.

Corbin Police Department Detective Robbie Hodge said he could not release further details Monday. Individuals with knowledge or information about the incident are encouraged to contact the department at 606-528-1122 or text the department tip line at 606-215-6239.
