Suspect charged in Lexington shooting that left man critically wounded Saturday

A man was in critical condition after being shot in Lexington on Saturday afternoon, and police have charged another man with the shooting.

Officers with the Lexington Police Department found the 66-year-old victim when they were called to a home in the 5400 block of Dedman Lane at 12:52 p.m., police said in a news release.

The man who was shot was taken to a hospital, police said.

Police arrested Tristan Johnson, 27, at the scene and charged him with first-degree assault. He was taken to the Fayette County Detention Center.

Dedman Lane runs off Parkers Mill Road and Fort Springs Pinckard Road in west Fayette County.
