A Lexington woman was arrested Wednesday night after police say she fired a gun on a city bus.

Officers were called just after 9:45 p.m. Wednesday to La Salle Road and Asbury Lane for a report of shots fired on a Lextran bus. Police said Paris Hilliard, 49, fired a shot into the roof of the bus after an argument with another passenger.

According to court documents, Hilliard instigated the fight with two other passengers. There were eight other passengers on the bus.

No injuries were reported.

Hilliard is charged with eight counts of first-degree wanton endangerment, according to police. She was booked into the Fayette County Detention Center.

Hilliard is scheduled to be arraigned Thursday afternoon in Fayette District Court. A bond in her case has not been set, according to court records.
