Lexington police officer charged with domestic violence assault

A Lexington police officer was charged Tuesday with domestic violence assault, according to the city police department.

Chad Wilson, 45, was arrested Tuesday by the Scott County Sheriff’s Office and booked into the Scott County Detention Center. Jail records say he has a court date scheduled for Thursday.

Fourth-degree assault is a class A misdemeanor in Kentucky.

No other information about what led to the arrest was provided. Police said Wilson has been relieved of his sworn duties and transferred to an administrative assignment while the incident is investigated.
