Juvenile robbed at park near Lexington school. Police searching for suspects

Lexington police say they are looking for suspects who robbed a minor at a park near a Lexington school Wednesday night.

The robbery happened around 9 p.m. in the 1100 block of Centre Parkway, which is near the Tates Creek schools campus. Police say a minor told officers they were assaulted by a group of people who stole the juvenile’s belongings.

Fayette County Public Schools spokesperson Miranda Scully said the robbery happened at Gainesway Park, not on the Tates Creek schools campus.

The juvenile suffered minor injuries, according to police. It’s unknown if the victim was a Fayette County Public Schools student.

Detectives have not identified any suspect yet, and no arrests have been made. Police are asking anyone with information about the incident to call the non-emergency number at 859-258-3600.
