A man accused of stabbing one person and fatally shooting another has been arrested in Georgetown.

The Georgetown Police Department said officers found one man shot and another male “suffering from serious physical injuries consistent with a stabbing” when they were called to Hutchins Drive Friday.

The shooting victim, James Evan Mullins, 50, of Georgetown, was pronounced dead at the scene, Scott County Deputy Coroner Chuck Helms said Saturday.

The stabbing victim was taken to a hospital, police said.

Jonathan Hunter Mullins has been arrested and charged with murder and first-degree assault, Georgetown police said Saturday.

“This remains an active and ongoing investigation,” police said in a Facebook post. “There is no threat to the public.”

Anyone with information was asked to call Georgetown police at 502-863-7826 or 502-863-7820.
