Three children have life-threatening injuries after their horse and buggy was rear ended in Carroll County, according to Kentucky State Police.

Troopers responded to a two-vehicle collision in Carroll County, a news release sent Sunday afternoon said. State police did not say what time or date they responded to the crash.

Early investigation shows that a white 2010 Nissan Altima driven by Daniel Crawford, 44, of Carrollton, rear-ended a horse and buggy with three kids, state police said.

The three children were transported to Norton Children’s Hospital in Louisville for life-threatening injuries. Police did not identify the children, or their ages.

This collision remains under investigation and is being reconstructed by Trooper Jordan Votaw. It is unclear if any charges will be filed.
