A Lexington woman has been arrested after court documents say she started a fire at a Lexington motel.

Olivia Maison, 30, was booked into the Fayette County Detention Center Friday, May 29, and charged with first-degree arson. Her arrest citation says she started a fire in a hotel room at the Sportsman Motel on Winchester Road with a handheld lighter earlier that day.

Details of the incident are similar to a fire that the Lexington Fire Department said happened at a fourplex behind the motel. The fourplex fire sent one person to a hospital and displaced one person from the unit where the fire started and three others from another unit, according to the fire department.

The fire department wasn’t able to immediately confirm if the fire Maison allegedly started is the same as the fourplex fire.

Maison is being held at the Fayette County jail on a $100,000 bond. She is scheduled to be arraigned in Fayette District Court Monday.
