Brother of man convicted for Crystal Rogers’ murder faces perjury charge. See the indictment
The brother of a Bardstown man convicted for the murder of Crystal Rogers has been arrested and charged with felony perjury.
Nick Houck, 46, was arrested around 1:30 p.m. Thursday on a charge of perjury between 2015 and 2023, according to Kentucky State Police.
He was indicted by a Nelson County grand jury June 3, according to court documents.
The indictment, released by Nelson Circuit Court Thursday afternoon, says “that between the dates of July 15th, 2015, and April 16th, 2023, in Nelson County, Kentucky, the above named defendant committed the offense of Perjury in the First Degree when he made a material false statement, which he did not believe, in an official proceeding, while under oath required or authorized by law.”
The indictment did not specify what Houck said that was false.
Kentucky State Police announced the arrest of Houck Thursday. His bond is set at $25,000 cash, court records show.
Nick Houck’s arraignment is scheduled for June 16 in Nelson County, according to court records.
A felony perjury charge carries a penalty of one to five years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000.
