A Campbellsville funeral home director has been indicted and accused of defrauding more than a dozen families who paid him for funeral services.

Donald Auberry, 53, is accused of defrauding families at least 13 times between July 2021 and April 2025, the Kentucky Attorney General’s Office said in a news release.

Auberry was indicted June 12 on 13 felony counts of violation of trust provisions/pre need payments for funeral services. He is scheduled to be arraigned in Taylor Circuit Court June 23.

According to a lawsuit filed in November by a Maryland casket company, Auberry was the operator of Auberry Funeral Home in Campbellsville.

Thacker Caskets argued that Auberry owes them more than $36,000.
