Man dies by suicide after laundromat shooting in Whitesburg, KSP says

A Whitesburg man is dead after he allegedly shot a woman in a laundromat before turning the weapon on himself, according to state police.
Richard Wyatt Sr., 62, of Whitesburg, died Saturday from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, Kentucky State Police said.
Just before 5 p.m. Saturday, Letcher County law enforcement was called to a laundromat on Jenkins Road for reports of a shooting.
When officers arrived, police found a 54-year-old woman with multiple gunshot wounds. She was flown to Pikeville Medical Center and is in critical condition.
After the shooting inside the laundromat, Wyatt Sr., the suspected shooter, fled the scene with another man, to a residence nearby, according to Kentucky State Police.
Once there, Wyatt Sr. died by a self-inflicted gunshot wound, state police said. The gunshot struck the other man who fled the scene, and they were transported to a nearby hospital in stable condition.
No details were provided about what led up to the shooting.
The investigation is ongoing by Kentucky State Police.
