Stolen car crashes into Lexington house; driver flees

A stolen vehicle crashed into a house on Buckhorn Drive on Monday morning, and Lexington police are searching for the driver.

A detective saw the stolen car on Alumni Drive and called a marked police car to make a traffic stop, Sgt. Ann Welch said.

When an officer in a marked car tried to pull over the vehicle, the driver drove off and eventually crashed into the house, Welch said. The driver then ran off and has not yet been found. No one in the house was injured.

While police were responding to the crash, they were flagged down in a separate instance for a domestic violence dispute, Welch said. An arrest was made in that case, which was near the crash.

The car that crashed into the house had been reported stolen from Brook Farm Court on Oct. 1, Welch said.
