Boyle County firefighter is indicted on six felony sex-abuse counts
DANVILLE — A Boyle County firefighter has been indicted on six felony counts of sodomy and sexual abuse of two girls.
Clarence A. Roller Jr., 39, of Danville was indicted this month on one count of first-degree sodomy, one count of second-degree sodomy and four counts of first-degree sexual abuse.
An arrest record in Roller's court file indicates that two girls were victims.
The indictment says the alleged crimes were committed against children who were younger than 12 and 14. Two of the sexual-abuse counts say that Roller, "a person of authority," masturbated in front of a minor child younger than 18 between July 15, 2010, and Aug. 15, 2011.
The two other sexual-abuse counts allegedly happened between Oct. 1, 2003, and Sept. 30, 2007. The two sodomy counts allegedly happened between Jan. 1, 2003, and Nov. 21, 2008.
Roller is a staff officer at the Boyle County Fire Department's Station 1 on Lebanon Road, said Lt. Jim Harris, public information officer for the department.
Harris said Roller has been put on administrative suspension pending the outcome of the criminal case.
Roller was arrested Aug. 17 by Kentucky State Police and remains in the Boyle County jail in lieu of a $200,000 bond.
