LANCASTER — The body found in a Garrard County field Sunday belongs to a missing man from neighboring Lincoln County, officials said.
Monday afternoon, state police and Garrard County Coroner Daryl Hodge identified the man as Floyd Smith, 55, of Crab Orchard.
Hodge said he does not think foul play was involved in Smith's death, though the state medical examiner's office had not determined an official cause of death Monday.
"We are waiting for more toxicology to be done and tests to be done," Hodge said.

Smith was known to travel from his home in Lincoln County to Garrard County to buy alcohol, Hodge said. Lincoln County does not allow alcohol sales.
Smith, who had been reported missing in Lincoln County, had been dead several days when his body was found, Hodge said.
The decomposed body was identified using medical records obtained by the Garrard County Coroner's Office, Hodge said.
The coroner said officials from his office suspected the body was that of Smith, so they obtained medical records from Smith's family and provided them to the state medical examiner's office.
Smith's body was found about 4:30 p.m. Sunday by a farmer bush hogging a field near Ky. 39, about two miles outside of Lancaster.
