Man wanted in fatal shooting at Lexington strip club turns himself in

A suspect in a fatal shooting at a Lexington strip club turned himself in Wednesday and was charged with murder, Lexington police said.

Joshua Lee Tevis, 27, is charged in the shooting of Johntel Crocker, 22, early Sunday at Divas Gentlemen's Club, a strip club on Russell Cave Road.

Tevis turned himself in Wednesday to the probation and parole office, which notified police, who took him to the Fayette County jail, police spokeswoman Sherelle Roberts said.

The shooting happened at a fight in the strip club's parking lot, but it was unclear whether Crocker was involved in the fight or was a bystander.

When police responded to a report of shots fired at the club, they found Crocker with a single gunshot wound. He later died at University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital.

Lexington police issued a murder warrant for Tevis on Sunday.
