Police nab alleged robber of Danville Sonic restaurant

Danville police arrested a man early Friday morning in a restaurant robbery that occurred a few hours before.

Avery Spicer, 24, of Danville, was taken into custody about 4:20 a.m. Friday, and charged with robbery of the Sonic restaurant at 101 Baughman Avenue in Danville, police said.

Spicer was arrested without incident, charged with first-degree robbery and lodged in the Boyle County Detention Center, officers said.

According to police, a man wearing dark clothing and a stocking mask of some sort entered the Sonic outlet about 11 p.m. Thursday armed with a handgun and demanded money.
