Police charge Lexington man after gunshot grazes victim's head

A Lexington man was charged with first-degree assault in connection with a shooting Sunday that left the victim with a graze wound on his head.

Radell M. Freeman, 59, was arrested Sunday.

According to police, officers were sent to the 500 block of Bright Avenue about 2:15 p.m. Sunday in answer to a call about a shooting. They found the victim, who was taken to University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital.

The victim was able to help officers identify the assailant, police said.

Police found Freeman a short time later.

The two men apparently had argued over money shortly before the shooting, police said.
