Man faces murder charge in 2014 Lexington slaying

Lexington police charged a man with murder Thursday night in connection with a slaying in 2014.

Javon D. Magee is charged with murder in the shooting death of Joseph Ramone Parker, Lexington police said.

Parker, 30, was found about 9:30 a.m. Dec. 18, 2014, lying on the sidewalk in front of an apartment complex at 1780 Augusta Court with multiple gunshot wounds. He later died. Parker's slaying was the city's 18th homicide of the year.

Magee, 21, was arrested by Lexington's Robbery Homicide Unit with assistance from the United States Marshals Task Force.

Details of the arrest were not immediately available
