Man indicted in Barren County in death of girlfriend's 2-year-old daughter

A Barren County grand jury has indicted a man on charges of murder, tampering with evidence and abuse of a corpse in connection with the death of his girlfriend's 2-year-old daughter.

Anthony Barbour, 25, is accused of killing Laynee Wallace, according to the Kentucky State Police.

Barbour was arrested after Laynee went missing from 279 East Temple Hill Road in Monroe County, and after a statewide manhunt. Barbour was found in a vehicle during a traffic stop in Barren County, and Laynee's body was found about an hour later, state police said. Her body was found in a well on property Barbour owned, the Associated Press reported.

Laynee and her mother lived with Barbour at his home near the Barren-Monroe county line.

Barbour was being held in the Barren County jail.
