State trooper injured after patrol car hits horse

A Kentucky State Police trooper was injured early Tuesday when his patrol car collided with a horse on U.S. Highway 150 in Rockcastle County.

Trooper Adam Hensley was traveling eastbound when a horse ran in front of his patrol car, according to a news release by Kentucky State Police.

Hensley was flown to University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital with non life-threatening injuries, including a broken arm, Trooper Lloyd Cochran said.

The patrol car was severely damaged and the horse was killed on impact, Cochran said.
