Indiana man accused of traveling to Kentucky to meet 13-year-old girl

An Indiana man was arrested Wednesday after he arrived at Foley Middle School in Berea trying to meet with a 13-year-old girl he said was his girlfriend, police said.

Brandon Johnson, 19, of Fort Wayne was forthcoming with information to Berea police, Sgt. Jake Reed said. Johnson told police he traveled to Kentucky on a Greyhound to meet with the girl.

He also told police about messages the two had exchanged, and he showed them numerous inappropriate photographs and videos, Reed said.

Johnson had about 100 photos and 10 videos on his cellphone, according to a police news release.

Johnson’s charges include:

▪ 50 counts of use of a minor younger than 16 in a sex performance.

▪ 50 counts of prohibited use of an electronic communication system to procure minor sex offenses.

▪ Possessing or viewing matter portraying a sexual performance by minor.

▪ Distributing obscene matter to minors.
