Three people have been arrested and charged with murder in connection with the 2011 shooting death of a man in his home, said Montgomery County Sheriff Fred Shortridge.
On Thursday, Natasha Martin, 29, of Clay City was arrested in Laurel County and charged with murder and first-degree robbery. She was initially lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center but was moved Friday to the Montgomery County Regional Jail.
Martin’s arrest came after the Nov. 12 and 13 arrests of Cody Hall, 31, of Clay City, and Nickie Miller, 53, of Stanton. The two men were each charged with murder and first-degree robbery and were lodged in the Montgomery County Regional Jail.
Hall and Martin pleaded not guilty Thursday before Montgomery District Judge Don Blair. Preliminary hearings are scheduled for them on Nov. 30, at which time a judge will determine whether there is probable cause to send their cases to a grand jury for possible indictment.
The three are accused in the Dec. 22, 2011, shooting death of Paul Brewer, 52, in his Mount Sterling home.
“It took us forever to make this case,” Shortridge said Thursday. “To be honest with you, we’re still working it. ...We still have another person of interest we’re looking at.”
