Two assaulted with handgun after UK football game
Two people were injured and one person was arrested after a pistol-whipping after the University of Kentucky football game Saturday at Commonwealth Stadium.
The game had just ended when UK police received multiple reports of a man with a firearm in the Blue Lot outside of the stadium, UK police Chief Joe Monroe said.
When police arrived, they discovered that a man had hit two people on the head with a handgun after an argument that escalated, Monroe said. Paramedics treated both at the scene.
Paul G. Walters, 59, was arrested and charged with second-degree assault and first-degree wanton endangerment, Monroe said. No students were involved.
