The body of Barry Slaven, 33, of Harrodsburg, was found on Alexandria Drive near Calumet Farm on Tuesday afternoon, and the coroner’s office is investigating the death as a homicide.

Slaven’s body was found in a Penske box truck, police Lt. Andrew Daugherty said.

He had been shot, WKYT reported.

The coroner’s office said the cause of death was pending, and an autopsy will be conducted Wednesday.

Slaven’s sister, Stacy Everett, sent the Herald-Leader an email Tuesday morning asking for help locating Slaven.

She said in the email that he “went missing in Lexington two days ago” and that a missing persons report had been filed with police.

She said he might have been driving “his moving company truck, which is a yellow truck with Penske on the side of it.”

“This is not like my brother and he would never leave his children,” Everett wrote.
