Women face assault charges in connection with La Grange woman’s slaying

Two more people have been arrested in connection with the death of an Oldham County woman.

Bethany “Nikki” Thomas, 30, of Campbellsburg, and Megan Elston, 24, of Smithfield were arrested Tuesday on charges of complicity to first-degree assault for their alleged roles in the attack on Angela Hall, 34, of La Grange.

Hall was reported missing to Kentucky State Police on Nov. 20. Her body was found a few days later in Shelby County on Cropper Road, according to police.

On Nov. 7, about two weeks before she was reported missing, Hall was killed by an assault with a baseball bat, according to trooper Joshua Lawson.

Three Henry County men were arrested in connection with the case on Nov. 24, according to state police.

John Downey, 30, of New Castle was charged with murder, abuse of a corpse, first-degree assault and tampering with evidence, according to state police. Bobby Long, 30, of New Castle was charged with murder and abuse of a corpse.

Joshua Sparkman, 30, of Campbellsburg was charged with first-degree assault, according to state police.

All of the suspects are being held in the Carroll County jail, according to state police.
