A Fayette County man was arrested Thursday on charges related to child sexual exploitation after Kentucky State Police executed a search warrant at his home.
Xiang Wang, 31, is charged with 20 counts of distribution and 20 counts of possession of matter portraying a sex performance by a minor.
Wang was arrested as the result of an undercover Internet Crimes Against Children investigation. Detectives with the state police Electronic Crime Branch began the investigation after observing Mr. Wang sharing images of child sexual exploitation online, including images and video of prepubescent children engaged in sexual acts.
The investigation resulted in the execution of a search warrant Thursday at Mr. Wang’s home in Lexington by state police investigators. Homeland Security Investigations assisted. Equipment used in the alleged crime was seized and taken to the state police forensic laboratory for examination. Mr. Wang was being held in the Fayette County jail. Each charge is a Class-D felony, punishable by up to five years in prison.
