Lexington Speedway robbed four times over six days
The Speedway on Paris Pike has been robbed four times since Saturday, and Lexington police have arrested two suspects while they look for a third.
William Joseph Riley, 37, and Joshua Wayne Rector, 31, were arrested Thursday morning after the fourth robbery, which was unrelated to the first three robberies, according to Lexington police. Both are charged with first-degree robbery, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, and fleeing and evading police.
An unidentified suspect robbed the Speedway on Saturday, Monday and Wednesday, according to police.
All three times, the man entered the Speedway, displayed a weapon to an employee and demanded money, according to police. The employees complied each time, and the suspect walked toward Parkside Drive after each robbery.
The investigation is continuing and anyone with information is encouraged to call the police department at 859-258-3600 or 859-258-3700.
