A man accused in connection with a fatal shooting in 2014 has been extradited to Lexington after being apprehended in Columbus, Ohio.
Demarcus Harris, 23, wanted on six charges, including murder and first-degree robbery, was apprehended Dec. 8 and was transferred to the Fayette County jail Friday, according to the Fayette County sheriff’s office.
Harris faces the charges in the death of Darnell Bates, 36, who was killed at his home on Addie Street early on Oct. 5, 2014. Two others are charged in the case: Charles B. Patton III, 22, and Caitlyn Conway, 23, were indicted in October.
Police said that Conway went to Bates’ home with him and called Patton and Harris and let them inside, and that Bates was shot during a struggle between him and the two men.
