Four people were killed on Christmas Eve when a car caught fire after a crash on Ky. 114 near Prestonsburg in Floyd County, according to state police.
Sandra Bauer, 54, of Salyersville; Nevaeh Bauer, 4, of Teaberry; Roland Patrick, 52, of Salyersville and an unidentified female passenger died, according to Kentucky State Police.
Sandra Bauer was driving east on Ky. 114 when her vehicle crossed into the westbound lane, colliding with the vehicle Patrick was driving, according to state police.
Nevaeh and the unidentified female passenger were in the vehicle with Sandra Bauer, according to state police. Pamela Kendrick-Bauer and Brayden Bauer, 5, also were in Sandra Bauer’s vehicle and were listed in stable condition Friday.

Brayden was flown to University of Kentucky Hospital, and Kendrick-Bauer was taken to Pikeville Medical Center, according to state police.
The investigation remains open.
In a post on the Floyd County sheriff’s office Facebook page, Sheriff John P. Hunt confirmed the fatalities Thursday night.
“Tonight is supposed to be a happy and festive night, but instead it is a very sad Christmas Eve, for not only those involved in the crash on Hwy. 114 and their families, but for all emergency personnel involved,” the post read. “I am very proud of our area first-responders. Their organization and execution of their tactical training is impressive.
“Tonight I am praying for the families involved as well as our first responders.”
