Fake money marked for movie use circulating in Georgetown

The Georgetown Police Department is encouraging businesses to keep a close eye on the payment they receive after a number of $100 bills marked “MOTION PICTURE USE ONLY” have been found circulating in the area.

“Protect yourself from falling victim to this scam by paying close attention to the money you receive,” the police department posted on its Facebook page Monday.

“Alert your employees so they know to watch for this crime. If someone attempts to pay you with this money, contact us immediately,” the post stated.
