Lincoln County woman charged with murder after mother is found dead in basement
A Lincoln County woman has been charged with murder in her mother’s death.
Carolyn Tiller, 78, was found dead Monday morning in the finished basement of her home on Upland Drive in Stanford, said Lincoln County Coroner Farris Marcum.
He said an autopsy was conducted Tuesday, but the cause of death was pending toxicology results.
Tiller’s body was found after a motorist called police after finding Tiller’s daughter Michelle Stevens in the front yard, WKYT reported.
Stevens, 51, was arrested Monday night and charged with murder-domestic violence, according to the Lincoln County Regional Jail website.
Funeral arrangements for Tiller are pending at Fox & Friend Funeral Home in Stanford.
