Man found shot in car in parking lot of a Lexington McDonald’s

A man was found shot in a car at the McDonald’s at Russell Cave and New Circle roads Tuesday night.

Lexington police Lt. Andrew Daugherty said police were called to the restaurant at about 9:40 p.m. because of a report about a disorder.

When they arrived, they found the injured man in a passenger car that had hit a tree while traveling at what Daugherty said was a fairly high rate of speed for a parking lot.

The man was taken to University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital, but the extent of his injuries was not immediately known.

Daugherty said soon after the incident that police did not yet have a firm description of the suspect’s vehicle.
