Man arrested for shooting at KSP trooper in Hardin County
A Hardin County man is charged with attempted murder of a police officer after a Saturday night standoff, Kentucky State Police said.
Police were trying to contact Dustin Ray Thomas, 22, at his home outside Elizabethtown following a burglary, according to a release.
After no response at the door, a trooper was fired at from a detached garage as he walked back to his patrol car.
After a several hour standoff involving troopers and the KSP Special response team, Thomas was taken into custody and charged.
Thomas remains in the Hardin County Detention Center.
