Parents of two of three female Warren East High School students who were involved in a fight Feb. 4 are accused of attending and encouraging the fight at an area park.

It was at least the second time since Feb. 4 that Kentucky parents were charged after they allegedly cheered on their children and recorded as they fought or bullied another kid.

WKYT reported on Feb. 10 that Derik and Katara Dobbs were charged after allegedly encouraging their daughter/stepdaughter to hit another girl at a gas station on Ky. 90 near Monticello on Feb. 5. Deputies say Derik Dobbs drove his 14-year-old daughter to the location and encouraged the fight, the station reported. On video he was heard telling the girl to “beat the hell out of her until I tell you to quit.” Katara Dobbs shot video and posted it to social media.

In the Warren County case, sheriff’s deputies saw Glenn and Kim Budd, both 35, of Bowling Green, and Sharon Grimes, 37, of Bowling Green, at Ephram White Park, according to a Monday news release from the Warren County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies determined that all three adults were parents of two of the students, sheriff’s office spokesman Stephen Harmon said. Deputies later found a video of the fight that showed the parents did not intervene and at times encouraged the girls to fight, according to the release.

Deputies arrested the Budds on Friday on one count each of third-degree unlawful transaction with a minor, according to the release. Grimes has not been arrested, but a warrant has been issued for her arrest charging her with third-degree unlawful transaction with a minor and menacing.

Anyone who knows Grimes’ whereabouts is asked to call the sheriff’s office at 270-842-1633.
