Frankfort police officer resigns after ‘inappropriate conversations’ with jail inmate

A Frankfort police officer has resigned after having “inappropriate conversations” with an inmate at the Franklin County Jail, police said.

Patrol Officer Benjamin Sullivan offered his resignation after an investigation into the situation was opened and he was questioned about the conversations, according to a statement from the Frankfort Police Department.

“The city of Frankfort, and specifically the Frankfort Police Department, is committed to upholding the highest standards of law enforcement and professional service to the community,” Chief Jeff Abrams said in the statement.
