Clerk scuffles with robber at Circle K on Richmond Road

Lexington police are investigating a foiled robbery Friday morning at a Circle K convenience store in the 3400 block of Richmond Road.

After a man robbed the store of money and unspecified items, the clerk followed the robber outside and “got into a scuffle,” Lt. Jonathan Bastian said.

“The robber ended up fleeing without the money and items he had stolen,” Bastian said. “I know a pipe was involved, and there was a struggle.”

The clerk had some minor injuries that did not require hospital treatment.

The robber was described as a white man who was about 6 feet tall and 250 pounds, wearing glasses, a hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.

The robbery was reported shortly after 2:30 a.m. Friday. The store is almost half a mile south of Man o’ War Boulevard.
