A Manchester man driving with his 1-year-old child was stopped Monday night as he left a London hospital because his pickup truck was weaving and he appeared extremely intoxicated, police said.

Wesley Wagers, 36, was pulled over by Laurel County sheriff’s deputies just before 11:30 p.m. Monday, according to the sheriff’s office. Wager’s baby son was found in an unsecured car seat in the front of Wagers’ pickup truck.

Police said Wagers admitted to police that he had injected methamphetamine and had taken “narco,” an acetaminophen and hydrocodone combination pill.

Wagers was charged with driving under the influence, wanton endangerment and failure to use a child restraint in a vehicle. He was taken to the Laurel County jail.
