Two charged with murder after body found near Harlan County subdivision
A married couple have been charged with murder after human remains were found Tuesday in a wooded area near Mountain Oaks subdivision in the Cawood community of Harlan County.
Michael Curtis, 26, and Kayla Curtis, 30, both of Cawood, have been arrested and charged with murder, tampering with evidence and abuse of a corpse, Kentucky State Police said.
Investigators believe the killing may be related to the disappearance of 49-year-old Tommy Ingersoll, who has been missing since March 10, according to Associated Press.
Police say Ingersoll was last seen at a Harlan gas station with Michael Curtis and an unidentified woman, according to AP. Curtis lives near the location where the remains were found.
Michael and Kayla Curtis are in the Harlan County Detention Center.
