Lexington man charged with trying to arrange sex with a minor
A Fayette County man has been charged after he tried to arrange sex with a minor through a social media site, Kentucky State Police said Friday.
Justin L. Cole, 24, was arrested Thursday on a charge of prohibited used of electronic communication system to procure a minor for a sexual offense, state police said in a release.
Cole was arrested as a result of an undercover Internet Crimes Against Children investigation. The state police began the investigation after discovering the suspect communicating with a minor on a social networking site.
A search warrant was executed Thursday at Cole’s home, state police said. His charge is a class D felony punishable by one to five years in prison.
Cole was being held at the Fayette County jail.
