Man charged in two Lexington gas station robberies
A man was arrested Sunday in connection to armed robberies at two Lexington gas stations last week.
Jesse R. Walker, 48, was being served an unrelated misdemeanor warrant Sunday when an officer recognized him from surveillance footage of the robberies, Lexington police said. After being interviewed by a detective, Walker was charged with two counts of first-degree robbery.
About 9 p.m. last Tuesday, a man took beer and cash from the Thorntons gas station at 802 North Broadway, Lexington police said.
A few hours later, about 3:15 a.m. Wednesday, a man took cash from the register at the Minit Mart Shell station at 435 West New Circle Road, Lexington police said.
Employees at both stations said the man implied that he had a firearm, Lexington police said.
Walker was being held in the Fayette County jail.
