AG’s office: Ohio man sought teen for sex after posting online ad
An Ohio man was arrested this week in Georgetown for seeking sex with a minor after he posted an online ad seeking a “young teen” to perform sexual acts, according to the Kentucky attorney general’s office.
Jeffrey Wayne Gill, 53, of Aberdeen, Ohio, was arrested Tuesday by cyber investigators in the parking lot of the Dairy Queen on Finley Drive in Georgetown. Prescription narcotics and marijuana were found inside his truck, the attorney general’s office said in a release.
Gill was charged with prohibited use of an electronic communication system to procure a minor for a sex offense, first-degree possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana.
Gill became the subject of an undercover investigation after he posted an online ad seeking a “young teen” to perform sexual acts. Gill communicated over the Internet several days earlier with an undercover investigator’s persona of a minor and offered the investigator drugs and money in exchange for sexual acts.
Gill rented a room in Georgetown for the stated purpose of bringing the persona there, according to investigators. He is being held in the Scott County Detention Center in lieu of a $10,000 bond.
