Two charged in Stanton shooting

A disagreement over a vehicle led to three or four gunshots and two men behind bars, Kentucky State Police said.

Billy Scott, 39, and Christoper Wise, 35, both of Stanton, were found Thursday just before 3 p.m., when police responded to a report of shots fired at 974 Halls Hill Road, according to state police. Scott fired the shots at Wise during the argument, but Wise wasn’t injured, police said.

Scott was charged with one count of first-degree assault and two counts of wanton endangerment. Wise was charged with trespassing.

Both men were taken to the Powell County jail.
