Harrodsburg man charged in case in which man’s body found in box in Bell County
A Harrodsburg man has been charged in a case in which a man’s body was found in a box alongside a road in Bell County late last year.
Clarence Michael Hicks, 61, was arrested at his home on Rose Lane on a charge of hiding a corpse that was filed in Wisconsin, according to a news release Monday from the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office.
The sheriff’s office in Pierce County, Wis., conducted the investigation.
Hicks is being held in the Boyle County Detention Center while he awaits an extradition hearing.
The body of Douglas Bailey, 51, of Prescott, Wis., was found in a box over an embankment alongside Industrial Road in Bell County in early December.
According to media reports, Bailey, a truck driver, had been reported missing after he failed to attend a family get-together in Peoria, Ill., at Thanksgiving.
Bailey’s girlfriend, Rose Marie Kuehni, 45, of Prescott, has been charged with first-degree intentional homicide and hiding a corpse.
