Nicholasville Dairy Queen robbed; one employee struck with gun

A Dairy Queen employee was hit in the head with a handgun during an armed robbery Wednesday night, Nicholasville police said.

Police received a report about 10 p.m. about an armed robbery at the restaurant on South Main Street, police said in a news release.

Two men wearing masks entered the business, police said. One man was armed with a handgun and demanded money from the employees and struck one employee in the head, causing minor injuries. The employees gave the robbers all their cash and two cellphones.

The two men then ran off in an unknown direction.
