Help catch a Lexington bank robber
Police are asking for your help to apprehend a bank robber. If you have information about either the Crime of the Week or the Suspect of the Week, do not try to take action on your own. Anonymous tips, including photos and videos, can be submitted by texting LEXPD plus the tip to CRIMES (274637). Crime of the Week
This week’s Crime of the Week is an attempted double bank robbery, from the Peoples Exchange Bank at 901 Richmond Road and from the Fifth Third Bank at 1680 Bryan Station Road on April 18. At about 9 a.m., a man tried and failed to get into the Peoples Exchange Bank. Twenty minutes later, the same man entered the Fifth Third Bank. He jumped over the teller’s desk, took cash and fled in a green Kia Sorrento.
Police said at the time that the man also tried to take a bank bag away from a male customer.
Peoples Exchange Bank is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to an arrest in this case.
Additionally, Bluegrass Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the solving of this crime.
Suspect of the Week
This week’s suspect of the week is Charles Reeves, wanted on charges of robbery, burglary, unlawful imprisonment and bail jumping.
Reeves, 21, is described as 5 feet, 10 inches tall, weighing 230 pounds.
