Help police find man who assaulted, robbed a woman at Kroger

Lexington police are asking for the public’s help to find a man who assaulted and robbed a woman in a grocery store parking lot Thursday night.

The woman was loading groceries into her vehicle outside of the Kroger in Tates Creek Centre just before 11 p.m. when a man approached her and tried to take her purse, police said. The man struck the woman in the face, took the purse and left in an older-model white pickup truck with striping on one side.

The woman sustained minor injuries, police said.

The man is described as being about 6 feet tall and heavyset.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call police at 859-258-3600. Anonymous tips, including pictures or video, can be sent by text to CRIMES (274637). Information can also be given anonymously by phone to Bluegrass Crime Stoppers at 859-253-2020 or submitted to bluegrasscrimestoppers.com.
