A man has been detained for questioning in the shooting of two people Thursday morning at a mobile home in Laurel County, a sheriff’s spokesman said.

Landon Collins, 28, of London, has been charged with possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, receiving stolen property, and two counts of attempted murder in the shooting, according to the sheriff’s office.

One person was shot in the head and was airlifted to University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital in Lexington, sheriff’s spokesman Gilbert Acciardo said.

The other person was shot in the abdomen and was taken to a local hospital, Acciardo said. The names of the two who were shot were not immediately available.

“We do know the two victims who were shot came to the residence in a pickup truck and talked to an individual inside the mobile home,” Acciardo said. “Some type of altercation occurred inside the residence.”

The shooting happened shortly after 11 a.m. Thursday on Locust Grove Road, about 8 miles west of London.
