Lexington police investigating shooting of man outside nightclub
A man was taken to University of Kentucky Hospital early Sunday after he was shot outside a bar, Lexington police said.
The man, whose name was not released, was listed in critical condition at the hospital, said Lexington police Lt. Andrew Daugherty.
The shooting happened at 2:30 a.m. Sunday in the parking lot of Saddle Ridge nightclub, 1030 S. Broadway, Daugherty said. Officers were dispatched to the scene after receiving a report of a disorder. Daugherty said a fight that had started in the bar moved outside to the parking lot.
“When officers got there, there was one victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the head,” Daugherty said. He said his information was that a bullet was lodged in the victim’s spine.
No arrests had been made as of 3:30 p.m. Sunday, but Daugherty said police are following up on some leads.
